The Mandalika Gowes 2019, a road bike competition was held by the TNI along with the NTB Regional Government, on Sunday (10/27) in the tourist area of The Mandalika, Central Lombok.
Activities in the framework of the 74th anniversary of the TNI, carried out to help promote Lombok tourism, in West Nusa Tenggara.
Around 650 participants of the Mandalika Gowes 2019 contest took a distance of 74 Km with a starting point in the Mandalika Beach area.
A number of high-ranking TNI officers participated in trying the challenging and charming route.
Chief Deputy of Staff Army Lieutenant General Tatang Sulaiman together with Pangdam IX / Udayana Maj. Gen. Benny Susianto and staff appeared to be cycling.
In addition, there was also the Deputy Regent of Central Lombok H Lalu Pathul Bahri, Kasdam IX / Udayana Brigadier General Kasuri.
Lieutenant General Tatang Sulaiman said, Mandalika Gowes in the context of the Central Lombok Regency anniversary and the 74th anniversary of the TNI was joined by members of the TNI and Polri, as well as the general public.
"The terrain is quite challenging and has many climbs, but the beauty of Lombok is indeed captivating," said Tatang Sulaiman.
Mandalika Road Bike Gowes 2019 is the second event conducted by the TNI during the TNI Anniversary.
In 2018, the event to promote Lombok tourism was conducted with the 2018 Mandalika TNI Marathon.
According to Tatang, Lombok is not only beautiful, but can also be a sport tourism location.
The Mandalika area is also being built for the 2021 MotoGP circuit.
Deputy Regent of Central Lombok, Lalu Pathul Bahri appreciated the activity.
"This activity helps promote Lombok tourism, especially Central Lombok. We hope that with this activity the community will know that Lombok is beautiful, good and conducive," he said. (*)
